02/09/2022 – On February 9th at approximately 10:52 PM Owasso Police were dispatched to a reported theft in progress at a local mini storage in Owasso.

The reporting party advised they observed suspects stealing a camper trailer and leaving with it, pulled behind a moving/box truck.

Officers responded and immediately located the suspect vehicle at 76th Street North and US169.  Officers attempted to stop the suspect, however, it continued a short time before yielding, finally stopping in the 8200 block of Northbound US169.

The occupants of the vehicle, an adult male and female exited the vehicle and attempted to provide an explanation as to their actions to the officer, however, while gathering information the male driver suddenly fled on foot across both directions of US169, jumped a fence, and disappeared into the Old Town neighborhood near 4th and Elm St.  The officer at the scene stayed and took the female passenger into custody while additional officers and resources, including the Tulsa Police Helicopter, were called in to attempt to locate the male suspect.  The female was eventually arrested once the actual owner of the stolen trailer/camper was found and advised of the events.

At this time the male suspect is still at large, however, has been identified.  Charges will be presented for a warrant for the male suspect.  Arrested at the scene was the female passenger, Crystal Castillo who was later booked into the Tulsa County Jail.  The camper/trailer was returned to the owner.  The moving truck was full of what police believe to be stolen items and equipment, which are still being inventoried at this time.
