01/29/2020 – The Owasso Board of Adjustment met Tuesday evening and allowed a special exception granting Kum & Go approval to build a new store in the vacant Shell station lot across from their current location on 76th Street North.

The City of Owasso’s Downtown overlay has different standards to preserve the area and prohibits the addition of a gas station within the boundaries of the Redbud District. As this is more of a relocation of an existing business in the district, the special exception was approved.

After the approval, Kum and Go representatives said they plan to begin building this Spring. They also plan to remove the gas tanks from their current location after moving, to make it more viable for a new business to locate there.

A rendering of the new store is shown above and will be a great addition and structural improvement to the old town area.
