Michael Kenneth Parks, Age 51, Collinsville

04/30/2019 – An officer took a report from a person who reported that his black utility trailer, valued at $3000, was parked at a storage facility and when he returned on 04/24/2019, the trailer was missing.  Security video was obtained showing a white male in a gold 1990’s Chevrolet pickup stealing the trailer on 04/21/2019.  The suspect appeared to have used a hammer to break the trailer lock and pulled the trailer out of the storage facility using the gold pickup.  Additional images of the suspect vehicle were obtained from security cameras at a nearby city maintenance facility.

On 04/29/2019, at approximately 10:00 AM, the Owasso Police Department released images of the suspect vehicle in the hopes that someone in the community might recognize the vehicle.  Within minutes of the image release, multiple tips were received from citizens reporting the suspect vehicle parked at a house in the Country Estates neighborhood.

Based on tips from the public, officers and detectives responded to the area in an effort to locate the pickup allegedly used in the theft of the trailer.  Officers located the vehicle parked in the street in front of a residence and a records check revealed that the pickup had been reported stolen from Catoosa.  Officers made contact with the person who had reportedly been driving the pickup, identified as Michael Parks.

Parks was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle as well as an outstanding felony arrest warrant from Wagoner County.  The investigation into the trailer theft will be sent to the Tulsa County District Attorney to determine if criminal charges are warranted in that case.  The stolen trailer was not recovered.
