Owasso Public Schools and the Folds of Honor are excited to announce a dynamic new partnership between the two. The Owasso Athletic Department will be working closely with the Folds of Honor to implement several new opportunities for the athletic programs. The Owasso Rams will be wearing Folds of Honor decals on their helmets and/or uniforms to honor not only the Foundation but all the brave men and women that have served and are currently serving in the United States military. The Folds of Honor logo will be visible at all sporting venues on the Owasso High School campus. Folds of Honor will provide an honorary captain that will tell their story to the teams at strategic agreed upon events. Owasso Athletics will have several special fundraisers throughout the year to help in their goal of raising enough money to donate a scholarship back to Folds of Honor.

Located in Owasso, Folds of Honor Foundation raises money for scholarships for the dependents of fallen or severely wounded service men and women. Last year the Folds of Honor Foundation awarded over 2,500 scholarships worth more than 12.5 million dollars to worthy recipients. The partnership will not only raise awareness about the Foundation but also provide a learning experience for the student athletes that will stick with them for the rest of their lives.

Tony Biata, Vice President of Folds of Honor and Patriot Golf Day had this to say about the partnership: “The Folds of Honor is proud to partner with Owasso Athletics to bring a dynamic model of how high schools can join in the mission of The Folds of Honor which is, HONOR THEIR SACRIFICE, EDUCATE THEIR LEGACY.”

Zach Duffield, Athletic Director for Owasso Public Schools added: “Owasso Athletics is honored to be able to join forces with Folds of Honor. The opportunities for our student athletes to learn something that can’t be taught on the field of play nor in the classroom will prove to be invaluable. This will enhance a sense of pride not only in our school, but for our country, and create a sense of appreciation for all of our armed forces and the sacrifices that they have made and continue to make. Our goal is to be a national model of how we, in our own way, support Folds of Honor. We hope this is something that Folds of Honor can use around the country to continue their noble mission.”
