01/19/2018 – An Owasso school bus collision occurred Thursday afternoon at approximately 4:04pm on State Highway 20 at the intersection of County Road 171st East Avenue, 2 miles east of Owasso, OK, in Rogers County.

A  2008 International School Bus was being driven by Maria Sheehan, age 76, of Collinsville. Sheehan was eastbound on SH20 in the left turn lane, preparing to turn north onto 171st East Avenue.  A 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Rachael Foster, 32, of Claremore, was traveling westbound on SH20 in the inside lane of traffic.  The school bus failed to yield, pulled into the path of Foster, causing her to strike the bus behind the right front tire

Two adults and two children (age 10) were on the bus, and treated for minor injuries at the scene.  Foster was not injured.

  • Cause of Collision – Failure to Yield
  • Seatbelts –     Equipped for driver of bus; in use. Equipped in Cavalier; in use.
