Sports Park

03/23/2018 Plans for Owasso’s 2nd Splash Pad are in the works.  A splash pad at the Owasso Sports Complex will add to the recreational options of the park, as well as provide an alternative to the Rayola Park splash pad.

The Sports Complex’s splash pad will be the largest in the area, with multiple slides and spray apparatus.  Seating, shaded areas and a concrete walk will be part of the feature’s draw.

Design has been completed,  but revisions are being made due to requirements by the US Corps of Engineers.

Larry Langford, Director of Recreation and Culture with the City of Owasso tells us that  due to the Corp of Engineers requirements for the dry detention pond that will be located in the south sports park, the splash pad site is being relocated.

Langford says “We had intended to locate the splash pad adjacent to the detention, but will now move it next to Funtastic Island. Because of the move and to maximize the construction, we plan to also renovate Funtastic Island as part of the construction.”

No time frame was given for the project.
