For the past 13 years, the Owasso Y partnered with the Owasso Community Resources to help feed families who have trouble budgeting for food. When the Hog Jog began, the Owasso Y donated hams as prizes to the top 3 male and female winners. Due to the generosity of the community, Hog Jog has grown, and they were able to donate 25 hams and hundreds of canned food items in 2014. The need is so much greater each year, and they are hoping to donate more hams and canned goods in 2015. Proceeds from the Hog Jog also help provide access to Y memberships and programs for families who cannot afford the fees, because the Y is committed to never turning anyone away due inability to pay. Through events like Hog Jog, it enables us help others in our community.
