Patricia LaVonne Sheffield was born September 29, 1928, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Sidney Johnson Owens and Ione Marie Scott Owens. She died Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 96 years. Pat completed her secondary education in Oklahoma City and graduated with the Classen High School Class of 1946. She married her childhood sweetheart, Dale Sheffield, after his return from military service, on December 28, 1947, in Oklahoma City. Pat continued her education studies attending Western College for Women in Oxford Ohio. She later attended the University of Tulsa and The University of Oklahoma.
Pat was a strong woman of faith and had been active with Bethel Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church in Owasso. She was also involved with the McDonnell-Douglas Retirees Club. Pat had many pastimes she enjoyed, but none more than her family, whom she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. Dale Sheffield, parents, Sidney and Ione Owens, parents in law, Herbert and Edna Sheffield, daughter-in-law, Martha L. Sheffield, and grandson, Jarod Porter Sheffield.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Dean Tucker and Jason Sheffield officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Stan Sheffield, Saji Thomas, Jason Sheffield, Isaac Sheffield, Brian Bannan, and Caden Kerr. Committal service and interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Pat’s memory to John 3:16 Mission, P.O. Box 700390, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74170-0390. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
