Just before 2:00 p.m., Rogers County Deputies received a call of a plane crashing near Gundy’s Airport on east 76th Street North.
The plane overshot the runway, crossed 76th Street coming to rest on the south side of the roadway. There were no injuries. Records show the plane is registered to Roy Stiner of Owasso
Liz Coleman shared on our Facebook page that she had witnessed the crash. “Oh my goodness, I was coming down 76 and thought, I’ve never seen a plane take off this close to me. A half-second later I thought, “That plane is NOT going to take off and I’m going to drive right into it!” I hit my brakes and watched the plane go across the road and crash into the grass.”
As of the time of this post, the roadway is still partially closed while they investigate and clean up the scene.
