“What do we want for lunch today” is frequently heard in our office. Today we decided to try something new… the El Samborsito Mexican Food Truck.

The school bus turned to a mobile “Authentic Mexican Food on Wheels” restaurant, parks itself Monday through Friday at 8700 North Garnett. This location is where you would find the Ram Produce stand when in season.

Decisions:

Their menu consists of eight items: Taco Dinner, Quesadilla Dinner, Burrito, Torta, Three Tacos, Fajitas, Enchilada Platter and Nacho Supreme plate.  Prices ranged from $3.75-$7.00.

Our Choices:

Employee one ordered the #5 ‘3 Tacos’. ($3.75) “This was some of the best, authentic, Mexican food I’ve had. While the meal looked small at first (next time I’ll make sure to hold the raw onions), I was completely satisfied once finished! I chose chicken, marinated pork and steak for the 3 tacos, in order to try a variety of meats offered. Surprisingly, being a beef fan – the pork was my favorite! The corn tortillas were soft and the hint of fresh squeezed lime was the perfect addition to my tacos. I may have been full, but it left me wanting more again tomorrow!”

($7.00) ” When I saw the picture of the fajitas, the first thing I thought was, please leave off the cilantro, and so they did.  I received a mix of chicken, onions, tomatoes and jalapenos served with a side of rice and beans and three corn tortillas . I was a little surprised when the salsa I ordered was green and creamy, but it was awesome!  There was more fajita mixture than three tortillas could hold.  Everything was seasoned perfectly with just the right “kick” to it!  Loved it and everything was perfect for my gluten free diet.”

Employee three ordered the #3 Burrito.  “The first thing I noticed was how heavy my lunch container was. I had the #3 which is a Burrito with Asada/Steak, rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream rolled in a 12″ tortilla.   I had them add cheese to mine and it was fantastic. Everything blended well together and was big enough for two meals even though I finished mine in one. Can’t wait to try something different.”

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food at a fair price, give El Samborsito a try.  We are sure glad we did and think you will be too.
