RoyNelle Bishop was born March 11, 1933, at Ada, Oklahoma, to Roy Otto and Charlotte Katherine (Weber) Ranes. She died Sunday, January 3, 2016, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years. Her family moved to Lawton, Oklahoma, in 1946 where she lived until moving to Evergreen Care Center in 2009. RoyNelle completed her secondary education in Lawton and was a graduate of Lawton High School. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in education at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. RoyNelle continued her education at the University of Oklahoma where she earned her Master’s degree in education. She was married January 28, 1956, at Wichita Falls, Texas, to Willie Gordon Bishop. RoyNelle spent her working life in the education field, primarily as a teacher with Lawton Public Schools. She was a longtime faithful member of Northwest Baptist Church, formerly Cache Road Baptist Church, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was also a member of the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including painting and gardening. She was a lifelong avid Oklahoma Sooners fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gordon, and son-in-law, Dan Horton.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
