Sandra "Sandy" GodfreySandra “Sandy” Kay Godfrey was born on January 17, 1944, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Edgar T. Rodebush and Mary Kathleen Frazier Rodebush. She passed from this life on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at her home in Claremore, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years. Sandy was raised and educated in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated with the Will Rogers High School Class of 1960. She then attended classes at the University of Tulsa. While raising her children, Mindi and Tim, Sandy worked on the Walk for Mankind. During the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, she penned a weekly inspirational column for the Bixby Bulletin called “Day by Day.” After her kids left home, Sandy spent most of her working life as an Administrative Assistant in the ER at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa for almost 20 years. She was a longtime faithful member at St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church in Claremore and was also a longtime member of the Secular Franciscan Order. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, singing in the choir, spending time with her family, and especially loving on her grandsons. She loved Christmas and Christmas music and was known to play Christmas carols year-round. Sandy was blessed with friendships of nearly 60 years with Marie and Jim Oliver and Barbara and Paul Droll and their families.
