Sarah AusemaSarah Ausema, 87, of Camden, Arkansas, passed from this Earth in Catoosa, Oklahoma, Saturday, September 26, 2020. Sarah was born November 22, 1932 in Faber, Arkansas to Grover and Ida Byrd.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ausema; her oldest son, Gary Edwards; all of her siblings, Edna Gibson, Fred Byrd, and Dora Rhodes.
Survivors include James (Ronnie) Edwards and wife, Mona; daughter-in-law Deborah Edwards; daughter Nova Ward and husband Benny Ward; Jennifer Douglas and husband Brent Douglas; son Bennet Ausema; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Sarah, known as “Mamaw”, loved, cherished, and was proud of all her grands. She was also survived by many generations of nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Sarah Lou and were loved by her.

 

Sarah was retired from General Dynamics, and was a 52 year resident of Camden, Arkansas.
Sarah was a long-time, active member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir, was a member of United Methodist Women, and served with the Good Samaritan food bank.
Sarah loved, worked and served in many ways. She always sent cards for every event. She raised and enjoyed flowers, often gifting them. She is well known for all of the kitchen towels she crocheted and gifted. (She just had to stay busy.) Sarah was a great cook and cooked dishes that were sought out and consumed at every potluck dinner.
Sarah leaves a legacy of great love, faith, hard work, and perseverance.
