Spread the love

If you are planning on getting married in 2016, or if you have only been married for a few years and would like a “refresher” course, then plan on attending the following class – “Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts.” This 6-week program will be offered at the Bailey Education Foundation (inside Bailey Hospital at 10502 N. 110th E. Ave) on Wednesday evenings, starting on February 3, 2016, and ending on March 9, 2016. Time will be from 6:30 – 7:45 pm. Primary teaching will be from the “Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts” dvd series by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott. Nate and Amanda Cadwell will present the material and facilitate the group. Jim Schnorrenberg, Counseling Minister at First Church of Owasso, will also assist. Jim is a licensed marriage and family therapist. Here are some of the lesson titles:

  • Have You Faced the Myths of Marriage with Honesty?

  • Can You Identify Your Love Style?

  • Can You Say What You Mean and Understand What You Hear?

  • Do You Know How to Fight a Good Fight?

  • Have You Developed the Habit of Happiness?

  • Have You Bridged the Gender Gap?

Cost will only be $10 per couple and will include his and her workbooks and refreshments. Those couples who complete the series will receive documentation to reduce their marriage license fee by $45. If you are preparing for marriage, then this is the workshop for you. Studies show that couples who receive at least 4 hours of pre-marital counseling have a much lower rate of divorce, and conversely, a much higher rate of happiness.
