Just after 6:00am this morning, Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews brought the last remaining bridge over Bird Creek on Highway 169 to the ground.

Traffic in both north and south directions was stopped for less than 30 minutes for the implosion to take place. The second bridge was brought down in December of 2015.

Approximately 60,000 drivers used the 56 year old bridge daily, which ODOT considered structurally deficient.

he demolition continues the plan to widen 169 to six lanes to 66th Street North.
