Build A Reader Storytime: Babies & Toddlers. Tuesdays, Sept. 19, 26 • 10-10:25 a.m. & 10:30-10:55 a.m. Join Ms. Shelly for fun stories, songs and activities that help your child develop important early literacy skills. For infants to 2-year-olds.

 

Build A Reader Storytime: Preschoolers. Wednesdays, Sept. 20, 27 • 10-10:25 a.m & 10:30-10:55 a.m. Join Mr. Steven for fun stories, songs and activities that help your child develop important early literacy skills. For ages 3-5.

 

Build A Reader: Stay and Play Tuesdays, Sept. 19, 26 & Wednesdays, Sept. 20, 27 • 11-11:25 a.m. For babies, toddlers and preschoolers, playing is learning! Join us for toys, activities and art experiences that develop your child’s early literacy skills. For children 5 and under.

 

PAWS for Reading Wednesday, Sept. 27 • 4-5 p.m. Registered therapy dogs are excellent listeners. Kids ages 5-12 are invited to read their favorite books to a furry, four-pawed friend. Bounce’n Beethovens Presented by Midtown School of Performing Arts. Thursday, Sept. 28 • 6:30-7:15 p.m. Children explore music through movement and instruments as they play with egg shakers, bells, rhythm sticks, drums and maracas in this fun, interactive program for parents and kids. Chair Yoga With Meditation Thursday, Sept. 14 • 7:15-7:45 p.m. Join Jeanne Doss from Tranquility Yoga and learn more about chair yoga with meditation and the six movements of the spine. Wear comfortable clothes for gentle movements. No mat is needed as we will sit in chairs. Come as you are; leave changed! For adults.

 

Put It In Writing @ Your Library: Writing and Self-Publishing Your Novel Monday, Sept. 18 • 6-7:30 p.m. Join us for a two-part workshop. In this first session, local author Janet Louise Brook will discuss her experience as a writer, and give tips on how to generate ideas and stay focused. Brook is the author of “Trickster’s Wind” and currently is working on the sequel. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is required. Put It In Writing @ Your Library: Writing and Self-Publishing Your Novel Monday, Sept. 25 • 6-7:30 p.m. Local author Daniel Wimberley will help you navigate the self-publishing process. He has self-published three books, including “The Wandering Tree,” a finalist for the 2017 Oklahoma Best Book Award. He also runs his own publishing company, Design Vault Press.
