Shirley Jeanette KhanShirley Jeanette Khan was born June 27, 1948, in Springfield, Missouri, to Harold Walter Young and Louella Mae Malicoat Young. She died Sunday, December 12, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 73 years. Shirley completed her secondary education in Willard, Missouri, and was a graduate of Willard High School. She continued her studies at Drury University and Tulsa Community College, where she maintained a 4.0 GPA and was listed on the Honor Roll. During her high school and college years, Shirley enjoyed playing the flute and roller skating. She was married November 11, 1967, in Nowata, Oklahoma, to Ishfaq Ahmad Khan. She had worked as a keypunch and data entry operator with American Airlines. She was diagnosed with lupus and arthritis in early adulthood which forced her to give up her career goals and become a homemaker and caring for her family. Shirley was a devout Christian woman who was strong in her faith. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including Mary Kay Cosmetics for many years. Her interests included arts, crafts, knitting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed collecting dolls and relaxing watching movies. She was very fond and extremely proud of her grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “Grammy”. Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include:

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, JD Young, and son, Shannon Khan.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Kevin Laufer officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be David Young, Greg Santistevan, Tommy Locke, Jody Graham, Jeff Youngblood, and Tommy Wheeler. Honorary casket bearers will be Kaiden Khan, Eldon Swink, Nikki Santistevan, Brian Graham, Taner Anderson, Wade Lenhart, Rawley Anderson, and CJ Santistevan. Committal service and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
