Mignon Barter was born October 7, 1928, in Manitou, Oklahoma, to George Washington Robertson and Bonnie Frances Welborn. She died Sunday, March 1, 2020, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years. Mignon completed her secondary education in Tipton, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Tipton High School Class of 1946. She was married August 22, 1947, in Vernon, Texas, to Joe Barter. Mignon spent most of her working life as a newborn nursery unit clerk at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a longtime faithful member of Collinsville First Baptist Church. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including traveling and going camping. Family was very important in her life, especially her role as “Grandma”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, three brothers, Howard Robertson, Merle Robertson, and Allen Robertson, and one grandson, Captain Wade Barter.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2020, at Collinsville First Baptist Church with Pastor David Robertson officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be David Robertson, Joel Pence, Kaleb Barter, and Tommy Barter. Committal service and interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Owasso Baptists Children’s Home, 12700 East 76th Street North, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
