Steve Allen TeachmanSteve Allen Teachman, 66, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, September 20, 2019 at his daughter’s home in Bixby, Oklahoma after a long illness. In hospice care for one week prior to his death, Steve died peacefully in his sleep.
Steve was born January 2, 1953 at the Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois to Melvin Leon and Geneva Jewel Teachman. He lived his early life in Norwich, Kansas, moving with his parents to Collinsville, Oklahoma when he was 16 years old. He attended Vo-Tech and graduated from Collinsville High School. As an adult, Steve lived primarily in and around the Tulsa County area and worked as a machinist.
 
Steve is survived by his parents, Melvin and Geneva Teachman of Collinsville, Oklahoma; three daughters, Chelsea Madsen of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Natalie Wirth and her husband Daniel of Baku, Azerbaijan, Germany, and Nicole Benham of Bixby, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Aiden Madsen, Jenna Madsen, Michel Benham, Elisa Wirth, Wyatt Higgins, and William Wirth; and two sisters, Melva Curtis and her husband Terry of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Gayla Miller and her husband Terry of Wichita, Kansas. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
 
Steve had many hobbies, among which were building bird houses, making jewelry, and gardening. He loved to camp and was passionate about fishing.
 
A visitation will be held at Mowery Funeral Service, Owasso, Oklahoma on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The memorial service will be held at First Church in Owasso, Oklahoma on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma.
