Steven Lloyd Schara was born November 6, 1950, in Dallas, Texas to Lloyd Francis Schara and Maryann (Schwanz) Schara. He passed from this life Friday, August 10, 2018, in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years. Steven was raised and educated in Dallas, Texas and graduated with the Lake Highlands High School Class of 1969. After college he attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Education and Social Sciences. He married Lois Anne (Alleman) Schara at the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on April 28, 1979. Steven spent most of his working life serving others, working at the Boys Ranch in Edmond, Oklahoma for 10 years and later at the Baptist Children’s Home in Owasso for another 10 years. He was very creative and had a variety of pastimes such as woodworking, hydroponics, and trying to make something out of anything.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Chad Puckett officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Steven’s memory to Baptist Children’s Home of Owasso, 12700 E. 76th St. N., Owasso, OK 74055.
