Summer School Break!
Owasso Community Resources continues to partner with the Owasso Public Schools and the Community Food Bank to provide Backpack Food 4 Kids. During the summer, the hundreds of students served by this program go without weekend sacks of food. OCR is working to assist the single parent families we serve with food, milk and snacks to bridge the gap for those students while school is out of session. If you would like to join OCR and supporting this effort, please consider a donation to help purchase milk and extra snacks for these students during the summertime. Volunteer Season
Summer presents an excellent opportunity to serve as a volunteer at OCR. If you have a student who needs community service hours for scholarships, Junior National Honor Society or scouting can take advantage of helping at OCR. We are open from 8:30 am to 2 pm Mondays through Wednesdays and from 1 to 6 pm on Thursdays and 9 am to noon on Fridays. To begin volunteering, drop by our office and sign up today.
Canned Food Drives
Summer is a great time to enlist your church, business or group to organize a canned food drive to help fill OCR’s Food Pantry. Some of the most needed items include green beans, corn, hamburger helper, chili, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, tuna, canned meats (chicken, Vienna sausages), boxed potato flakes, canned beef stew, soups, canned spaghetti sauce (no glass jars) and canned fruit. Every can helps a family in need.
