s-llewellynSylvia Lee Llewellyn was born April 19, 1930, in Bethel, Oklahoma, to William Franklin and Nancy Virginia (Walston) Lawrence. She died Monday, November 28, 2016, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years. Sylvia was reared and educated in McCurtain County, Oklahoma, and was a graduate of Battiest High School. She continued her education attending Southeastern State College at Durant, Oklahoma, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in education. Sylvia was married June 11, 1955, in Idabel, Oklahoma, to Warren G. Llewellyn. They had made their home in Owasso since 1955. She taught in public school for a few years before spending time as a homemaker caring for her family. She was a longtime faithful member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Owasso as well as the Eastern Star and was a member of the Owasso Senior Citizens. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including reading and working crossword puzzles. She also spent time embroidering and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Warren, two brothers, and four sisters.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Owasso with Reverend Ty Westlake officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Michael Ingram, Paul Ingram, Andrew Allen, Clayton Tennison, Joseph Ackerman, and James Marshall. Committal service and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Sylvia’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2448 East 81st Street North, Suite #300, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74137.
