Born on June 4, 1948, passed peacefully on June 7, 2020 in Owasso, OK. Teresa was born in Salem, OR to Dorman Stites and Mabel Bowker and moved to Tulsa, OK after the age of seven. She attended Tulsa Public Schools and graduated from Central High School as part of the Class of 1966. On June 6, 1986, she married Rick Gaffney of Sperry, OK.
Teresa had a short career in Real Estate as a broker before transitioning to a stay-at-home mother during most of the 1970’s and 80’s. In the late 80’s, she started her own hair salon in Sperry, OK and later in life helped manage her husband’s welding inspection company, which she continued up until May of this year.
Teresa’s favorite time of year was always the Christmas holiday season and enjoyed decorating the house in early Fall. She loved going to garage sales and antique stores to meet new people and look for “hidden treasures”. She was always known for being outgoing, vivacious, and eager to start up a conversation. Her strong spirit and love will be missed by those who cared for her throughout her lifetime.
She was proceeded in death by parents, Dorman Stites and Mabel Bowker; son Ted Ray Gaffney.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Rick Ray Gaffney; Aunt Billie Sullins; son Jason Cornett and wife Audra; son Drew Cornett; adopted son Mario Bonilla and wife Lucy; grandchildren Jarrett, Bret, Anthony, Valeria and Ariana.
