Known as one of the most influential composers of the last century, Wilson’s musical journey began as co-founder of The Beach Boys.
The Beach Boys quickly became the rock ‘n’ roll voice of Southern California, with their perfect harmonies and original songs about surfing, beaches, hot rods and surfer girls.
Wilson was barely out of his teens when he began to produce nine consecutive “gold” albums that included such classics as “Surfer Girl,” “In My Room,” “I Get Around,” “Don’t Worry Baby,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “Help me, Rhonda” and “California Girls,” just to list a few of the more than two dozen Top 40 hits Wilson co-wrote, produced and performed with The Beach Boys.
The band continued to conquer the airwaves throughout the 90s with more than 30 chart-topping albums. The release of the band’s eleventh album, “Pet Sounds,” garnered enormous worldwide acclaim by critics and musicians alike and featured top hits like “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “God Only Knows” and “Sloop John B.”
Along with substantial success with The Beach Boys, Wilson has encountered his own success in his solo career.
In 1988, Wilson made his solo debut with the self-titled album “Brian Wilson,” which featured “Love and Mercy,” “There’s So Many” and “Baby Let Your Hair Grow Long.” Wilson continued to release hit albums and in 1999 conquered his legendary stage-fright by going on his first solo tour. The following year, Wilson began a series of “Dreams Come True” events when he kicked off his acclaimed “Pet Sounds” symphonic tour, which reviewers described as “the best concert ever.”
In 2012, the band reunited for the 50th anniversary reunion tour along with the release of the album “That’s Why God Made the Radio.”
