The Not So Silent Night – Rock Against Child Abuse
The 4th Annual Not So Silent Night held December 6th at the Owasso Enerje Event Center, takes Christmas and cranks it up full volume. Featuring hard rock music, community activism, cupcakes, beverages, and a spirit of giving, this event is sure to have you moshing around the Christmas tree. A new, unwrapped toy of any monetary amount secures entry into the event.
The Enerje Event Center is located at 9341 N. 129th E. Ave in Owasso and we are pleased to bring in the musical talents of White Collar Sideshow (Ft. Smith, AR), Grave Robber (Ft. Wayne, IN), Far From Sanity (Tulsa, OK), Chaotic Resemblance (Oklahoma City, OK) and Even the Dogs (Tulsa, OK). Not So Silent Night provides an all ages, drug and alcohol free environment that families can enjoy together.
The gifts received at the event are utilized to underwrite the Tulsa Court Appointed Special Advocates (C.A.S.A) holiday party. The children receiving these gifts are those removed from abusive homes and are now in area foster homes and shelters. The CASA Staff recognizes that many foster families have limited resources and, in many cases, no extra money for the holiday season. Many of the CASA children have a lot of disruption in their lives including multiple foster placements and do not experience much joy even during the holidays. This party allows the children to experience that joy in a safe environment. It allows for sibling visits as well as time for the CASA volunteer to be with the child and family. The party is sure to brighten the holidays for these children who have been through so much. Approximately 150 children will attend their annual party and the residual gifts received go to the children who are not able to make the event.
We want to sincerely thank every business and individual who has invested time and resources to make this event become a reality. We are excited that we are set to break the 1000 gift mark and see a record year of giving to the children that Court Appointed Special Advocates serve.
