Thomas Bateman IVThomas “Shotzi” Bateman, 52, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Thomas was born in Altus, Oklahoma, to Thomas and Karen Ruth Wooley-Bateman on May 13, 1969. He attended U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City, graduating with the Class of 1988. He married Kimberly on May 3, 2000, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He worked for Marriot Hospitality Services for eight years. He then worked for Rae, Corp., in Pryor, Oklahoma, for over 15 years, in the header department building headers for heat exchangers. He loved to work with his hands, which included working on cars and building things out of wood or metal. He loved to play pool and sing karaoke with friends, and he loved all kinds of music. He loved his children, his adopted children, and his loving wife very much. He was a very loving man who accepted just about anyone he met into his life. He would give the shirt off his back if it meant it would help someone. He had a very big heart and fought for the people he loved and fought until his final moments.

Thomas “Shotzi” was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Bateman, his sister, Kelly Dawn Bateman, and his grandparents on both sides. Thomas is survived by his wife, Kimberly, his children, Stephen Potter, Cassandra Bateman, Moddasy Bateman and her fiancé Tim Schwartz, Austin Tinkey and his wife Shelby, his son, Thomas Bateman V, his father, Thomas Bateman, Sr., brother-in-law, Dwain Garner and his fiancé Sara Arzu, his “sweet pea”, Amber Moore, and his adopted children, Savannah, Joshua, Zoey, and their mother, Laura, and several other adopted children over the years.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Jalynna Moser officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Dick Duck Cemetery in Catoosa, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in “Shotzi’s” memory to the American Legion Post #308, 11328 East Admiral Place, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74116. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
