     Thomas Edward Hubbard, resident of Collinsville, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the age of 83 years.  Thomas was born January 2, 1931 at Tahlequah, OK to Herby and Viola (Holbrook) Hubbard.  He was raised in Tahlequah, graduating high school there.  Thomas later enlisted in the United States Air Force, honorably serving his country and was discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.  On May 11, 1957, he and Delores Steddum were united in marriage in Sherman, Texas.  They made their first home in Tulsa before moving to Collinsville in 1961.  Thomas worked for American Airlines as an inspector, retiring after 28 years of service.  He enjoyed keeping busy, especially farming and raising cattle.  A man of many talents, he could fix most anything.

 

     Those that survive include his wife of 56 years – Dee of the home; two sons Jeff Hubbard and his wife Leigh Ann and Barrytom Hubbard and wife Renee, all of Collinsville; Grandchildren – Natalie Hubbard, Mike Duncan, Tyler Hubbard, Tricia Curtis, Lacy Hubbard and J.C. Hubbard.  Also surviving are great grandchildren Ally and Zach Hubbard, Sam Duncan, Haleigh Curtis, Jenisen Cunningham, Lindlee Hubbard as well as two nieces Jeanie Brown and Ann Livingston.  Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Glen, Gladys, Hurcie Mae, Ralph and Ronnie.

 

     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, February 3, 2014 in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service with Brother Gary McDeveit of Prue officiating.  Visitation will be on Sunday, February 2nd from 2pm – 6pm.  Burial will be in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Collinsville, OK.  Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.   www.moweryfs.com
