Not much could excite an expectant mother more than a sneak peek at her baby. With a little encouragement from her business partner and boyfriend, Jerad Ballard, she decided it was time to make her dream a reality, and the two opened Tiny Blessings on March 1st.
“I love watching family faces light up when they get a peek at what their baby will look like,” Kimanda says. “By providing self-pay elective services, we have a definitive advantage over the hospital-based setting that tends to be rushed and lacks the personal touch when ultrasound is used in the diagnostic setting.
“Our goal is to please each and every family by showing them their unborn baby in an inviting and comfortable setting. We plan to build relationships that will bring customers back with their future babies as well.”
The “family” experience she speaks of truly means what it implies. The studio comfortably seats 10-plus family members—even more can stand and watch if they choose. There are even toys and books to entertain the youngest in your group.
“At Tiny Blessings we always welcome siblings and the entire family to watch the ultrasound,” Kimanda says.“We provide a very inviting family- and children-friendly studio and encourage expecting parents to share the joy with their family. We try to make families feel comfortable and not rushed in their sessions with us.”
Most folks are anxious to know the gender and choose elective ultrasound for that purpose. Tiny Blessings can certainly help solve the mystery.
“At 16 weeks we can determine the gender with a very high accuracy,” Kimanda says. “If you are over 16 weeks and the gender cannot be seen, we invite you back for a week-day return appointment, and we will rescan you for free within the next 14 days. The need for a return visit is usually due to the baby’s position.”
Kimanda knew Owasso was the perfect location for her dream business.
“We live in Skiatook, but we felt there was a need for a studio in Owasso with there being two hospitals, plus we are very accessible to Bartlesville, Claremore and many of the surrounding towns around Tulsa,” she says.
And she is looking forward to offering expectant Owasso families the joy of sneak peeks for years to come.
