GarageSaleSignHC1206_X_th_CEveryone is having garage sales right now but that does take a lot of work cleaning, organizing, pricing and so on. That’s likely why more and more people either sell items on facebook or craigslist. But how can you succeed in this overcrowded world where everything is for sale? It’s easy! Here are 3 tips to get you started:

1. Clean it Up: This is vital if you’re going to sell something at a garage sale, online or just about anywhere. You can get much more money for items when they’re actually clean! I mean, most people (including you) do not like to buy dirty things.

2. Set the Price: Have you ever seen someone try to sell something for 3x’s it’s actual worth? Yeah, that doesn’t work. Shop around and find out the prices of your items before you list them. Keeping in mind, you are selling something that is likely used. Your 10 year old vacuum cleaner is likely worth quite a bit less now if you go to sell it but, more often than not, people tend to price used items and new prices.

3. Take Good Pictures: You don’t need a fancy camera to take a decent picture. Simply place the object by a window with natural light during the day (no flash, no lights on overhead). You’ll notice a dramatic change in your pictures and it will leave your items looking much cleaner and more pleasing to the eye. Remember, a bad picture could cost you a sale!

Go ahead, go through your house and get ready to make some extra money. With a little elbow grease and common sense, you can sell your items in a flash!
