Vera Esther McNeil was born January 26, 1931, in Fairview, Oklahoma, to William and Vesta Anna Alice Green Kleck. She died Thursday, September 12, 2019, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years. Vera completed her secondary education in Enid, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Enid High School Class of 1949. She continued her education attending Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. Vera was married November 2, 1962, in Oklahoma City to Merl Kenneth McNeil. They had been residents of Owasso, Oklahoma, since 1964. She spent much of her working life as a payroll clerk beginning with OTASCO, which her husband owned and operated in Owasso for many years. She later worked in the same capacity with Flintco in Tulsa. She had been a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church in Owasso. Vera enjoyed a variety of pastimes including sewing, but she particularly enjoyed bowling. She was an active bowler in many leagues for over 50 years.

Great Grandchildren: Makayela, Hailee, Savanna, Chance, and Kyle Jo
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Merl, sisters, Lois Shoemaker and Jean Weil, and brother, William Kleck.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2019, at the First Baptist Church of Owasso with Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made to The Mission, 11341 North Garnett Road, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
