08/21/2023 – On Sunday, August 20th, 2023, at around 11:20 AM, the Owasso Police received a distress call regarding a shooting at 11602 East 102nd Street North in Owasso. Upon their arrival, it was determined that a domestic violence incident had unfolded between a couple, resulting in a gunshot. Tragically, the victim, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to a local hospital but sadly did not survive.Following an initial investigation, the shooter was apprehended and taken into custody. There was also a 10-year-old child present in the residence at the time of the incident, who has since been placed under the care of other family members. It’s important to note that this was an isolated domestic situation, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The person arrested in connection with this incident is 28-year-old Essence D. Fields of Owasso, who has been transported to the Tulsa County Jail on a charge of 2nd Degree Murder.
The victim/deceased is 26yo Atia Kamare Fields of Owasso.
