W E WilliamsWalter Eugene “Walt” Williams was born March 18, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Cecil W. and Altha Norma Mauldin Williams. He died Thursday, November 2, 2017, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 73 years. Walt was reared and educated in Okay, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Okay High School Class of 1961. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Air Force. He spent much of his working life as a body shop manager in the automotive industry, as well as an insurance appraiser. He had also served a stint as the Okay Police Commissioner. Walt loved working with cars, especially older antique models. He also enjoyed rodeos and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Those he leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: his daughter, Stacy Spriggs and husband Bryan; two grandchildren; Kennedy Spriggs and Hayden Spriggs, all of Owasso, OK; brother John Williams and wife Marge of Wagoner, OK; sister Vilena York of Claremore, OK; sister Farrell Hathcock of Broken Arrow, OK; sister Barbara Dotson and husband Bobby of Broken Arrow, OK; sister Donna Holden of Broken Arrow, OK and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Leroy Williams, Francis Williams, and Ted Williams.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Okay Christian Fellowship in Okay, Oklahoma, with Pastor Jonathan Bias officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Three Rivers Cemetery in Okay. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 3131 East Pine Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74110.
