03/06/2018 – It’s  Spring Cleaning time for many, just don’t make a “curb alert” part of your plans to get rid of your unwanted items.

It may sound like a good idea to you (but maybe not so much to your neighbors) to set stuff at the curb hoping someone will come by and pick it up, but doing so is actually against the law.

IMG_8242(1)Owasso City Ordinance 8-101 states that it is unlawful for any lot within the City limits to allow trash to accumulate on the premises. City Ordinance 8-102 (2) defines “trash” as combustible materials, rubbish or any matter of any kind which is uncared for, discarded or abandoned.

Several area charity organizations are happy to pick up your unwanted items for resale. You could make a few bucks for yourself by selling your unwanted items on the Facebook marketplace. There are also “Free Stuff” giveaway pages on Facebook as well.

Spring cleaning is always a great idea to get your house in order, just don’t end up getting fined while doing it.
