Spread the love
Carole Edwina Ryburn Perks was born on June 4, 1946, in Heavener, Oklahoma, and passed peacefully from this life on June 22nd in Owasso, Oklahoma. She was 79 years old.

Carole was known for her warm hospitality. She loved to host and entertain. She decorated their home for every holiday, but especially at Christmas. Their annual Christmas open house was a highlight for many.

Carole had many hobbies, but she especially enjoyed cross-stitch, making jellies, and baking for her loved ones. Outside of the home, few things brought a smile to her face quite like swing dancing to classic Country and Western music.

Earlier in life, Carole was a 1964 graduate of East Central High School in Tulsa and later attended the University of Tulsa, where through the chance of an alphabetical seating chart she met her adoring husband, Joseph (Joe) Perks. They were married for 57 years and had two daughters.

Carole is survived by her husband, Dr. Joseph Perks; daughters Catren Lamb and husband Steve, and Cristen Perks Sloan and husband Noah; and grandchildren Kylie, Ahren, Eliot, Quinn, Marli, Hank, and Hattie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and James Ryburn, her brother James Ryburn, Jr., and her sister Linda Mazur.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:00AM, at Kavanaugh Methodist Church, 2516 Park Street in Greenville, TX.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her memory to FISH – Hunt County Shared Ministries (https://hcsmfish.org).
