Carol Lynn Hart, a longtime resident of Miami and Collinsville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 13, 2025, at the age of 87.  Carol was born on September 5 th , 1938 in Nowata, Oklahoma to parents Evelyn M. Hatfield (Giles) and William J. Hatfield.  She spent most her life in Miami, Oklahoma where she graduated from MHS in 1956.  She achieved her AA degree at NEO, her BS degree at OSU, and later in her career, a MS degree from PSU.  Although Carol spent much of her life caring for her family as a homemaker and military wife, she was a dedicated teacher.  Her career spanned several states and decades as she selflessly taught in the challenging special education field and later in her career as a substitute teacher.   Throughout her life, Carol was very active in clubs and sports, playing tennis, swimming, and golf, she was an active Girl Scout and troop leader, a member of AAUW, Kappa’s, and several Christian Women’s Fellowship groups.  After her retirement, Carol loved spending time with her grandkids, traveling, traditional rug hooking, and playing bridge and golf.

She will always be fondly remembered, and is survived by her brother, Richard Hatfield, sister, Francis Webb; sons, Paul II and Russell Hart; daughter, Janet Obrock; grandchildren, Kai, Zackary, Natalie Obrock, Allison and Nathan Hart, and many others.  All who knew her are welcome to attend an informal celebration of her life on December
