Spread the love

Scott Stephens was triumphantly welcomed to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 27th, 2025 at the age of 62. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 3, 1963 to Harlan and Hazel (Root) Stephens. After graduating from Owasso High School in 1981, he attended Oklahoma State University where he met and married Karyn Elizabeth O’Donnell in 1984. Shortly after, Scott became passionate about his faith in Jesus Christ and knowledge of scripture.
Scott completed his BBA/Finance and Banking degree at the University of North Texas (1990), He was ordained as a minister in 1998. His confident, outgoing nature, and love for people served him in witnessing to anyone and everyone who came across his path. Through his books, guest appearances at churches across the nation, street ministry to the homeless, and videos at ScottStephensTV, Scott led many to Jesus Christ and equipped them with biblical knowledge. His final ministry was from his hospital bed where he boldly professed his faith and love for Jesus to all who entered his room, and exemplified what it meant to have joy in every circumstance.
Scott loved to laugh, fish, camp, play basketball, watch OU football, listen to music, cook, read, and garden. His favorite activity of all however, was going to the beach near Encinitas, California, where he and Karyn lived for several years. He moved back to Oklahoma in 2021 to be near and help his parents.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Aura (Pratt) Root; grandparents Eddie and Nellie Stephens, and Ralph and Eula Mae Root. He is survived by his beloved and faithful wife, Karyn, and their children: Rachel (Brian), Sarah (Tyler), Joseph Stephens, and Hannah Stephens; his parents; Harlan and Hazel Stephens; his sisters: Cindy (Tim Karmondy), and Stephanie (Stephens) Harrington; and his nieces and nephews: AJ Harrington, Madeline Harrington (Braden Mauppins), Sophie Harrington, Abigail Karmondy, and Benjamin Karmondy.
I, Scott, have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
