Hugh Michael “Mike” Shaw, age 72, of Tulsa, passed away Friday evening, August 30, 2013. Mike was born in Tulsa, OK to Roy Clifford and Louise (Whiteas) Shaw on May 19, 1941. He was raised and received his education in Tulsa. Mike worked as a welder most of his life, retiring five years ago from Metal Services, Inc. (MSI). He enjoyed watching “Westerns”, especially starring John Wayne; working in his yard and was always “tinkering” and trying to fix things. But most important in his life was his family, especially the grandchildren.
Those that survive and hold cherished memories are his daughter Vicki Shaw, son David Shaw and wife Lori, and their mother Phyllis Shaw; three grandchildren – Michael Brian Shaw, Mackenzie and Macy Shall, all of Owasso; a brother Donnie Shaw and wife Jenny of Tulsa; two sisters Amanda Robinson of Salina, OK and Dean Hill of Okmulgee, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Jack, Frank and Tuffy Shaw as well as a sister Virginia Reed.
Services for Mike will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 in the chapel of Mowery Funeral Service with Dr. Craig Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. Visitation will be from 4pm – 8pm on Wednesday, September 4th at the funeral home. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
