Located in a beautifully restored building on Collinsville’s Historic Main Street is a community asset that proves just how caring those living Collinsville and the surrounding communities are.  The Arubah Community Clinic is a faith-based free medical clinic serving the uninsured in NE Oklahoma.  Started by a group of individuals who saw the need for access to healthcare and open a few short years, Arubah has seen both the need for its services and the support received from the community grow by leaps and bounds.   But there is more to be done and the Art & Heart of Caring is a fun way for you and your family to help.

This February, the clinic is inviting you to show your creative side and take part in the Art & Heart of Caring.   It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 to show you care:

  1. Purchase your wooden heart from the Arubah Community Clinic for $25 (online at arubahclinic.com or in person at the clinic).
  2. Decorate your heart at home, at Plum Craft Crazy (the purchase of your heart comes with access to select decorations) or have our creative cupids decorate it for you.
  3. Return it to the Clinic by February 12 to get the maximum exposure. We will number it and hang it from one of the trees lining Main Street, showing everyone just how big the HEART is in our community!

Everyone  is then invited to vote for their favorite: write the number of your favorite heart and “Art & Heart of Caring” on a piece of paper, turn in at the clinic or Plum Craft Crazy by February 26. Winner will be announced Friday, February 27 at 6 p.m.  Order forms are available on the Arubah web site, at the clinic (1021 W. Main St) or at Plum Craft Crazy (924 W. Main St.).  Your design is limited only by your imagination!

A true community event, the  “creative cupids” willing to do the creating for you are area students who attend  Plum Craft Crazy’s new after school program, geared toward giving our Jr. High kids something to do after school.

Oh and the fun doesn’t end there.  Once the decorated arty-hearts are turned in, they will be numbered and hung from the trees lining Main Street.  Everyone is invited to vote for their favorite and the winner will be announced during a reception at Arubah on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.

Arubah is a 501(c)3 organization, all proceeds go to support the program of the clinic and are tax deductible. The clinic is open for patients on a first-come, first-served basis Monday and Thursday evenings from 6 – 8 p.m. and the third Saturday of the month from 9 – noon.  The clinic is staffed by volunteers and is always looking for caring people who want to help make a difference right in their own backyard.  For more information, contact Arubah at (918) 371-3806 or at [email protected].
