Circumstances sometimes arise, where social service workers must take a child into protective custody. During the transitions to foster or safe homes, children often arrive with very few if any possessions.
Students at Barnes Elementary School in Owasso are collecting items for their “Kindness Project” which is sponsored by their Student Council. The project’s purpose is to help out children who end up in those situations.
Below are items they are currently collecting. They would appreciate your donation of any items shown on the list.
Teacher Katie Smith tells us one big need is nylon and string backpacks, the kind that is often given out free at area events. If you have nylon backpacks you are not using, or your business has extras you use for advertising, they would be very grateful for the donation.
