Betty Jane PowellBetty Jane Powell was born December 26, 1933, in Julesburg, Colorado, to Alexander Lambrecht, Sr., and Barbara Catherine Gerk Lambrecht. She died Monday, January 23, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years. Betty completed her secondary education in Ovid, Colorado, and was a graduate of Ovid High School. She was married October 24, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Bernard Powell. Betty was a farm wife, helping her husband on the farm and caring for her family. She had also worked at the Ovid Meat Locker and the Ovid Sugar Factory. She was a longtime faithful member at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Julesburg where she was active with the women’s church group. Betty enjoyed a variety of pastimes including cooking, enjoying her flower gardens, working with crafts, and especially going shopping. She was a meticulous dresser and always dressed in accordance with the right season and the current fashion. She enjoyed playing games, particularly card games. Betty dearly loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Great grandchildren; Cole, Ashlyn, Gavin, Allie, Chloe, Aiden, Dylan, Lainee, Maddux, Alexa,
Daryn, Harper, Brooklyn, Connor, Beatrice, Reagan, Michael, and Taylla
Brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Chuck and Joan Powell
Brother-in-law; Ted Powell
And a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bernard Powell, brother, Alex Lambrecht, Jr., and sisters, Irene Lambrecht Ward, Mary Lambrecht Plagman, and Sally Lambrecht Luke.
 
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the Ovid Methodist Church in Ovid, Colorado. Final resting place will be in Ovid Cemetery. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso, www.moweryfs.com and Prairie Hills Funeral Home of Julesburg, Colorado.
