Billie Marlene DukeBillie Marlene Duke was born October 13, 1932, in Dallas, Texas, to Marvin Odell and Francis Louise Crabtree Carpenter. She died Thursday, January 7, 2021, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years. Marlene completed her secondary education in California where she was a graduated of Bell Gardens High School. She was married June 25, 1950, in Los Angeles, California, to Charles William Duke. She spent much of her working life as a nanny, caring for many children of prominent families in the Tulsa area. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including crafting, but she especially enjoyed spending times at the lake with her family camping and boating. Marlene was strong in her faith and was an active member of Victory Tabernacle Church in Claremore, Oklahoma. She dearly loved her church and her church family.

Sister; Lorena Carpenter, of La Crescenta, California
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, on January 30, 2019, grandchildren, Shannon Romine, Rodney Odell Duke, and Charla Atchley.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Bryce Collins officiating. Masks and observance of social distancing will be required. Serving as casket bearers will be Ryan Duke, Roger Atchley, Michael Romine, Weston Long, Chas Murray, and Reginald Murray. Committal service and interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Victory Tabernacle Church, 24759 South 4100 Road, Claremore, Oklahoma, 74019. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
