Spread the love
David Paul ThompsonDavid Paul Thompson was born May 3, 1952, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to James Lincoln and Wahseal Marie Smith Thompson. He went to be with his Lord and Savior September 21, 2021, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 69 years. David was reared and educated in Owasso, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1970. He was married September 12, 1969, at Central Baptist Church in Owasso to Debra McMillan. He spent most of his working life as a master carpenter. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, fishing, shooting guns, and taking road trips. David was known to be an animal whisperer and could get any animal to do just as he wanted. At the same time, he was known to make animals quite chubby. He couldn’t stand for any person or animal to go hungry. He had a way of “finding money people must have dropped” if he noticed they were skimping on a meal. Of course, no one knew this except him and God, because he didn’t let his right hand know what the left hand was doing. He often came across as gruff to people, and moderately sarcastic, but his heart and love for people really was golden…he just kept that part private. He was truly a character that kept everyone on their toes, but when he revealed the tender parts of his heart, it could be seen just how much God used him to help others. He was especially fond of his role of “Poppa” to his grandchildren. David loved God with all his heart, soul, and mind. You can find insight to his journey on his blog at ashepherdsboy.com .
