Donald Dayton Hogue, SR.Donald Dayton Hogue, Sr., was born March 30, 1936, in Verdigris, Oklahoma, to Walter Alexander Hogue and Lille Belle O’Neal Hogue. He died Tuesday, March 14, 2023, in Haskell, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years. Don was reared and educated in Catoosa, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Catoosa High School Class of 1954. He was married May 22, 1958, to Shirley Jean Wadsworth. Don spent most of his working life as a master craftsman and skilled carpenter. He was a strong man of faith and a longtime active member of the Catoosa Assembly of God, where he served as Youth leader, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School superintendent, and Deacon. In recent years, he was a faithful member of Haskell First Assembly of God. Donald loved to hunt and fish. He loved golf and went twice a week until the age of 86. Don dearly loved his family and was especially fond of his role as Pawpaw. He loved telling others about the love of Jesus Christ every chance he got.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley Hogue, siblings Delmar Hogue, Velma Lanier, Delbert Hogue, Chrystal Schultz, Vivian Zellner, Velda Jean Fain, Harold Hogue, Madeline Edmondson, grandson, Donnie Shane Hogue, and great granddaughter, Jentri RaNaye Drain.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Trinity Holiness Assembly of God in Owasso with Pastor Don Hogue, Jr., Pastor James Brown, and Pastor Glenn Berry officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Jared Drain, Devin Hogue, Jamie Brown, Adam Markou, Jaxon Drain, Lucas Markou, Scott Sullivan, and Heath Wadsworth. Honorary casket bearers will be Al Dorris, Sammy Lee, Charles Wadsworth, Gerald Tipton, Vance Tipton, Bud Hogue, Darin Presley, and Mike Blevins. Committal service and interment will follow at Wofford Cemetery, in Catoosa, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Don’s memory to the Haskell Assembly of God Vision Catalyst Project, PO Box 1260, Haskell, Oklahoma, 74436. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
