Doris BrumfieldDoris Imogene Bailey Brumfield was born June 2, 1926, in Owasso, Oklahoma, to Youal W. and Madge Ola Bennett Fry. She died Thursday, December 24, 2020, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 94 years. Doris was reared and educated in Owasso and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1944. Right out of high school she began working at Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa. She took a leave of absence to go with her sister-in-law until her brother shipped off to war. Doris stayed on by herself and worked in the shipyards in Richmond, California, as a welder during World War II. She was married November 3, 1945, in Tulsa to T.J. Bailey. T.J. and Doris moved to Vera, Oklahoma in 1953 where they raised their family. From 1968-1975, she worked for Pepsi-Cola in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She and T.J. moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1975 where she worked for Levi Strauss until her retirement. Doris was strong in her faith and had attended Rejoice Free Will Baptist Church and in recent years Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church. She loved singing, music and spending time in her garden. T.J. preceded her in death on April 29, 2000. She married again in March of 2003, to Mack Brumfield. She particularly enjoyed spending time with family and family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, T.J., son, Michael Bailey, and siblings, Marvin Fry, Bill Fry, Clyde Fry, Maurice Fry, Marion Fry, Barbara Fry, Dorothy Allsup, and Dale Fry.
 
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Adam Yandell and Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
