D MccartyDymple Dee McCarty, resident of rural Sperry, passed away from this life on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at her home. She was 89 years old. Dymple was born October 30, 1927, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Oliver Frank and Mattie Belle (Love) Abbott. She was raised and received her education in Sperry, graduating from Sperry High School. On October 30, 1945, she and Glenn Lee McCarty were united in marriage in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. To this union five children were born. They made their first home in west Tulsa (Creek County) until moving back to Glenn’s childhood home in the Sperry area in 2002. Dymple was a longtime member of the Oakridge Baptist Church in West Tulsa. Her family, children and grandchildren were always a priority in her life; but she also enjoyed crafts, sewing, fishing and working in the yard and gardens.

Dymple was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years, Glenn L. McCarty and a daughter, Judy A. Watson. Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include her children, daughters Glennal Shook and husband Robert of Tulsa, Linda Kay Hill and husband James of Tahlequah, Donna Sue McCarty of Tulsa, and son, Michael Ray McCarty of Sperry and Angela Wood of Owasso.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Patricia Wilkerson and husband Ike, Robert (Bobby) Shook and wife Sandy, Shawna Monasmith and husband Brian, Teresa Wood, Tracy Benson and husband Scott, Jamie Casey and husband Cheatum, Brent Trowbridge and wife Laurie, Brandy Nester and husband Christopher, Melissa Johnson and husband Joe, Mattie Sloan and husband Kevin, Kelsey Mullins and husband Landon and Mikayla McCarty; many great and great-great grandchildren; her faithful cat Angel; and many friends and relatives.

Funeral services for Dymple will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service, Owasso, with Chaplain Tom Smith officiating. Burial will be next to her husband in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
