Anglers play an important role in broadening our understanding of Oklahoma’s fish. By allowing the Wildlife Department to examine record and near-record fish, collect measurements, and even remove earstones for aging, anglers have helped show the growth and age potential of our fish communities. Oklahoma anglers have pulled in the state’s largest known alligator gar, the world’s largest paddlefish, and the oldest known smallmouth buffalo and spotted gar!
