Waterfall FuneralGwendolyn Sue Tippit, longtime resident of Tulsa passed peacefully with her son and family at her side on Thursday, May 26, 2016. She was 72 years of age. Sue was born in Seminole, OK to Verl Floyd and Claudine (Watkins) Burley on June 8, 1943. The first part of her life was spent in California, before the family returned to the Sand Springs and West Tulsa area. Sue graduated from Central High School. She began her career in accounting with Skelly Oil Company, later becoming Texaco where she worked for 37 years until retiring in the late 1990’s as a NGL Accounting Manager. Sue’s lived and breathed for her son, grandsons & family. Time with them was her favorite past time. In addition she enjoyed camping at the lake or woods, working crossword puzzles, needlepoint and earlier in her life was a regional champion bowler.

Those that survive and hold many cherished memories are her son – Jeff Tippit and wife Liz of Owasso; three grandsons Jake, Josh and John; a brother Steve Burley of Bristow, OK; a nephew Steven Burley and two nieces Shelly Fillingham and Angela Stottlemyre. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lois Stottlemyre, brother in law Louis Stottlemyre, cousins Jack and Marilyn and her Aunt Betty and Uncle Don.

It was Sue’s request that she be cremated. We welcome family and friends to join us; Sunday June 12th at 3pm at Tulsa Country Club; 701 N Union Avenue as we celebrate Sue Tippit’s life as an amazing Mother, Granny and Friend www.moweryfs.com
