Spread the love

Our “PaPa” Harry McAlister age 86 years, 5 months, and 24 days moved to Heaven on 26 February 2024 in the evening.

He was a faithful friend, husband and lover of his wife Ann, of 65 years. A blessed father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was loved by all. Harry was born in Russellville, Arkansas 27 September 1937 and spent most of his early life in Russellville. The family moved to Tulsa, about 1952, where Harry finished his education at Will Rogers where he graduated in 1955. In 1954 during his junior year, he joined the ROTC for the Navy not long after graduation, he went in full time in the Navy, serving on several ships based in San Diego, California, as the Yeoman of the ship, directly under the captain, was the only person abroad ship able to carry a gun. We all are proud of his 8 years he served his Country.

We were members of several local churches after we moved to Owasso in 1978, the last being Christ Church of Owasso. Harry was always interested in Airplanes, guns and fishing, later became a Ham Radio Operator, and we all loved all our camping adventures. He taught all the family to shoot, make bullets and clean guns.
Insisted we all knew how to bait a hook and clean fish. He tried to teach us Morse code but gave up. He did enjoy a Flight Simulator game of flying airplanes after we finally got a computer.

God gave Harry the uncanny ability to fix anything. He would never allow anyone to borrow his tools, he would just go and fix the problem, and rarely charged. Spent most of his adult life working as a Service technician for General Electric.

Harry is survived by his wife Ann, sons Scott and Robin McAlister, Jon and Rhonda McAlister, and daughter Jamie and Kelly Fetzer. Grandchildren Ronnie McAlister, Kierstie McAlister, Josh and Kaitlyn McAlister, Justin and Cassie Whitlock, Kylie Whitlock and finance Hunter Archer, Connor and Morgan McAlister, Braden and Emily McAlister and Makenna Fetzer.
