Do your children need an extra outlet to relieve their energy? Tired of chilly, rainy Saturday mornings at the soccer field? Need another great option for birthday party venue? The newly opened Indoor Soccer and Sports Owasso (ISSO) is your answer!
It was certainly the answer for Carmelo and Marla Scalone. “One morning, Carmelo woke up with a dream to open his very own indoor soccer complex and leave behind corporate America.” Marla says.
“Through a lot of prayer, research, family discussions and much preparation, we asked for God’s approval and guidance. While we would have loved to move back to Florida to be surrounded by family, it was apparent God’s plan was for us to be here.”
The Scalones know God put them in Owasso to raise their three boys in a positive, safe environment. “Owasso has unlimited opportunities and growth potential. We are excited to be a part of the community and look forward to getting to know everyone who walks through our doors,” Marla says.
With Carmelo as Manager and Marla as Director of Marketing, the dream is now a reality. ISSO is family-owned and operated, offering indoor soccer leagues for ages 6 and up (boys, girls, coed, men’s and women’s)—recreation, competition or simply for fun. Also offered is Mighty Kickers, a premier introductory soccer program for children 18 months to 5 years, designed to build motor skills, life skills, self-confidence and basic soccer technique.
Whether you need a full field or a half field, ISSO offers hourly field rentals for all sports, including soccer, football, lacrosse, cheerleading, kickball, etc. Soccer and lacrosse clinics will be offered monthly by knowledgeable instructors, including members of the Tulsa Athletics, a new soccer team in the National Premier Soccer League.
A great, new option for birthday parties, overnight lock-ins for church/team groups or team building events, ISSO offers a full-service concession stand. Two indoor batting cages will soon be added.
To enjoy ISSO facilities, participants need a member ID card, which will be offered for a limited time at no charge. Log on to the website, issowasso.com to register and order your ID cards for yourself, your child or your team.
As the Scalones open their new business, they wholeheartedly thank everyone in the community who has prayed with and for them during the process.
“While some might think we are out of our minds, going off blind faith and trust in God, it is something we feel very strongly about and could not have done without God’s help,” she says. “We have a story, a true testimony, which we are excited to share and are looking forward to watching God’s plan play out.”
