James Patrick MeadowsJames Patrick “Pat” Meadows was born February 18, 1938, in Belcher, Louisiana, to Charles Hammond Meadows and Edith Frances Mitchell Meadows. He died Monday, June 6, 2022, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years. Pat completed his secondary education in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Central High School Class of 1956. He was married June 6, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Joyce Virginia Bruce. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Navy. He spent most of his working life as a machinist. Pat enjoyed a variety of pastimes especially all types of sports. He was a fan of racing and watching NASCAR. He enjoyed watching University of Oklahoma Sooner and Oklahoma State University Cowboy football. He was an avid fan of Owasso Ram baseball, and even coached baseball when he was younger. He liked going to the casino and playing the slots. Pat had a sweet tooth and loved eating desserts, typically having one of each on Thanksgiving and Christmas. He dearly loved his family and was especially fond of his role as “Papa”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Edith Meadows, two sisters, Minnie Lou Rowley and Elizabeth Dupont, one brother, George Meadows, father-in-law, Melvin Bruce, and mother-in-law, Helen Bruce.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2022, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel. Final resting place will be at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Pat’s memory to the Folds of Honor Foundation, 5800 North Patriot Drive, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
